FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO YOU HAVE TO BE IN A SPECIFIC LOCATION TO RUN OUR EVENTS?
No! As the name states, these are Virtual Runs. That means you can run them anywhere in the world you like. On your local streets, at Parkrun at a running event, at the gym on a treadmill. You get the drift!
DOES THE DISTANCE HAVE TO BE RUN?
No! We understand that everyone is at different levels of fitness and some people can't run due to injury or restrictions therefore our challenges can be completed by either walking or running the distance. Using you GPS watch or tracking device whilst cycling or driving is not permitted because let's face it, although it would give us a laugh, it would defeat the purpose of what we do!
DO I HAVE TO DO THE DISTANCE ALL IN ONE GO?
No! Virtual Runs are designed to keep you motivated and moving. The goal is to complete the set number of kilometres in a challenge over the designated time. If it takes you 5 runs/walks to reach your 21.1km challenge… then that’s absolutely fine.
IF I ENTER MORE THAN ONE EVENT IN A MONTH, CAN I USE MY KM’S FROM ONE RUN TOWARDS ANOTHER?
ABSOLUTELY! If you register for more than one event, your total kilometres over the month can be used towards each event. Alternatively if you are motivated to do more kilometres, you can log them all separately!
HOW DO I TRACK MY KILOMETRES?
Most of our runners use GPS watches to track their runs and send summary screens at the end of the month to show, however we also have users who use other running apps and devices such as Map my Run, fitbits or built-in health apps that are currently on their phones.The choice is yours. If you are running on treadmills, screen shots of your runs are also acceptable.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY MEDAL?
Here at Virtual Runner we pre-order medals to avoid lengthy delays on your medal arriving. With issues surrounding covid-19 at the moment, we will be shipping our medals at the end of each month. Once the supply & shipping returns to normal practice, we hope to be able to send medals out to you as soon as your evidence is received. Thanks so much for your understanding.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANNOT COMPLETE MY DISTANCE?
We understand that life can just happen! If you are injured or unwell we do not want you running and making it worse.Or if you have something come up like unexpected travel, then that’s ok! Just email us at email@example.com and we will do what we can to accommodate your change in circumstances.

Virtual Runner use the Active Platform to process your registration.Please ensure that your account has your most up-to-date address prior to registering as if we do not have the correct address, there’s a good chance your medal will not arrive!
